Downloading Maps on Apple Watch

To use Topo Maps+ on your watch offline, download maps before you head out. Every downloaded map is available when you're out of service in the backcountry.

How to download a map

1. Tap the menu button in the bottom-right corner.

   

2. Tap Download Map.

   

3. Pan and zoom the map to the area you want, then tap Download. The download covers the area visible on the screen. If you're zoomed out too far, the screen says Zoom in Closer instead.

   

4. Keep the app open while the map downloads.

   

Some maps can't be downloaded on the watch. For those, the watch asks you to download the map on your iPhone and send it to your watch.

While you're choosing an area, the areas you've already downloaded are shaded red.

How to delete a downloaded map

1. Tap the menu button in the bottom-right corner.

2. Tap Settings & About, then tap Manage Storage.

   

3. Under Downloaded Maps, tap the map you want to delete.

   

4. Tap Delete Map.

   

To remove every download at once, tap Delete All Maps at the bottom of Manage Storage, then tap Delete All Maps again to confirm.
